Growing up Susan found much of her inspiration baking cookies and sweets with her grandmother on weekends and summers in Rhode Island. While in high school she worked at an upscale cake shop in Michigan and fell in love with the art of decorating. She decided to further her education at Johnson and Wales University with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. Upon graduation Susan traveled nationally while working at several high end private clubs and restaurants throughout the country, before being offered a job at the renowned Breakers Hotel and Resort in Palm Beach as their head Cake Artist creating beautiful high end cakes for their elite clientele for 4 years. She has trained with top cake artists such as Mary and Brenda Maher owners of Cakegirls in Chicago, and Kate Sullivan owner of LovinSullivan Cakes.

In 2005, Susan relocated to Westchester to embark on her personal dream of launching and operating her own line of custom cake designs and Susan Gambelli Custom Cakes was born. Susan’s unique vision for her cakes include the use of natural ingredients that marry a “made from scratch” sensibility to a high level of elegant artistry. Her line of custom cakes incorporate her bold and innovative vision to the traditional art of cake design resulting in beautiful and unique works of edible art.

Her passion and unique vision has given her opportunity to design cakes for Westchester Weddings Magazine Fall/Winter 2006, Spring/Summer 2007, Fall/Winter 2007, and Spring/Summer 2008. She also competed in Food Network's Challenge Princess Cakes in February of 2007.
